This project included the construction of a new three story 30,000 sf science wing addition consisting of new laboratories and preparation rooms and major renovations to a 264,000 sf occupied high school. As construction manager at risk, Morganti worked with the city and design team to develop early release packages to meet tight summer construction schedules and minimize impact to school operations. The early packages were comprised of a new roof, fire protection and acoustic ceilings in the existing building, long lead items of structural steel and concrete and isolated site work and classroom renovation work within the existing school. Other preconstruction services included BIM MEP modeling of existing utility locations above the ceilings which lead to better fire protection pricing for the owner. Construction management also included working with the architect to make sure the design documents were prepared with enough detail to avoid conflicts with the chapter 149a file subs and coordinated existing foundation depths, floor and roof levels to align with the new.
